Karen is well traveled, and has used her passion for law and travel to help children in third world countries. She worked at an orphanage in Ethiopia, and
also traveled to Nepal and India where she visited orphanages and children’s homes. When Karen is not helping others, she enjoys gardening, kayaking, and
hiking in and around beautiful Victoria, B.C.
Karen is a member of three different professional groups: the Law Society of BC (member since 1996); the Victoria Collaborative Family Separation Professionals Group (member since 2002 and Co-chair in 2003 and 2004); Canadian Bar Association (member since 1996, current member of the Family Law and Wills and Trusts sub-sections, Co-chair of the Wills and Trusts sub-section in 2009 and 2010).
Her areas of practice are Family Law, including separation, divorce, cohabitation and marriage agreements, domestic and international adoptions, and Estate Planning and Incapacity Planning, including Wills, Powers of Attorney, Representation Agreements and committeeship applications. Life throws us curve balls when we least expect them, and during these stressful times, professional legal advice is often necessary.
