American Bookbinders Museum


The American Bookbinders Museum shares the history of books and Western bookbinding from the earliest days of the first millennium to the digital revolution. We tell the stories of the men, women, and children who made and make books, and celebrate the current state of bookbinding, from artisanal hand-made books to traditionally published mass market books to fine design bindings. Our aim is to make guests re-examine an object they thought they knew--and the rich history behind it.
