Historic Travellers Rest

Historic Travellers Rest is the oldest historic house open to the public in the city of Nashville, and is best positioned to tell the story of Nashville. From an ancient Mississippian village to the home of John Overton, Travellers Rest tells Nashville's story. We have a long and successful history as a popular field trip destination for area schoolteachers with over 12,000 students visiting each year. Additionally, our summer camps are one of Nashville's best kept secrets - with history camps running all summer long covering everything from the ancient Mississippians, the enslaved population of Travellers Rest, Jacksonian American, and the Civil War - we make HISTORY FUN!
