We had a great time at the bug zoo, the ants themselves are an epic attraction and absolutely amazing to see. Our one complaint was that you had to join the tours that were going on to touch the bugs and they are very educational, but a bit over the heads of the younger kids who just want to touch/hold a bug. And then I missed the two insects only adults can hold because the tours weren't at those bugs for the 35 minutes we were in there and then the kids were asking to go.

Awesome family-friendly local attraction. A great place to bring out-of-town guests with children, too. Fun to get to hold some of the insects, and the guides are interesting and knowledgeable. When I was there I had to leave my stroller aside, so baby-wearing came in handy.

Even if you don't usually like bugs or spiders, everything here is SUPER SIZED, so it's (in my opinion) less scary! Very knowledgeable staff... definitely time your visit for one of the tours.

The bug zoo is fantastic...If you can take the time to listen to the guide you will get loads of interesting info and facts. You can hold the bugs and experience them first hand.

I can't believe I'm the first to review this local landmark! Growing up here, I remember holding the crazy-legged millipede & braving the bug candy assortment thereafter in the gift shop on school field trips - if you're thinking all-ages family entertainment for the WHOLE family in downtown Greater Victoria, then you're probably going to add this possibility to your next family adventure! I couldn't anticipate an entire day's worth at the Bug Zoo however so plan a trip down the road to The Bay Centre or indulge in the delish pastas at Pagliacci's to make a day of it (great rainy day game plan)
