PROGRAMS AND SERVICES (for 0 to 5 year olds)

Bricoler et emporter (Mondays from 10AM to 11AM):

For children, crafts are an opportunity for them to develop their fine motor skills. For them, testing and handling is more important than the final result. "Do It Yourself" is beneficial for your toddler's growing brain because in addition to being fun, it helps develop fine motor skills and improve skills in math, reading and socializing. Skills that children develop during the creative experiences not only play a role in their overall development. Spend time with your child and develop your parent-child relationship in this hands-on learning activity and encourage creative exploration and play.

Not the crafty type? No worries: the activities will be explained and made with our animator.

Bout'choux en musique (Tuesdays from 10AM to 10:45AM):

This musical awakening activity is available for children from 0 to 5 years of age. Through songs and rhymes, and the discovery of musical instruments, children learn the basic concepts of music. For toddlers, musical awakening, experimenting sounds, objects and instruments are detrimental to their development.

The purpose of this activity is not to make great musicians, but to initiate and develop critical thinking skills by teaching them to say what they liked and disliked. This program is not only listening to music, but also developing social skills, when to be silent and how to have a group approach. It also develops corporeal skills, because rhythm is not learned by sitting down, but by getting up and moving our body!

Chef en herbe (Wednesdays from 10AM to 11AM):

During this program, children will experience small, simple and nutritious recipes, will participate in small activities that will introduce them to healthy eating and discovering new foods and ingredients in a fun way. Children imitate the chef concocting a snack based on the theme of week. They will thus develop their sense of taste, smell, touch, and the art of decorating their creation… The kids will love making these snacks and sharing them with their parents.

Yoga-Bébé (10$/session, Wednesdays from 10AM to 11AM):

The period following the birth of a baby is major in a woman's life. This is an excellent time to think about taking care of yourself.

In this course, everything is designed for the well-being of mom, dad and baby. The exercises are adapted to the specific situation that represents the post-natal period and specific needs: flexibility and back strengthening, toning the arms and abdominals, pelvic floor awareness and tension relief due to carrying and/or breastfeeding your baby.

These yoga classes are a great way to get back in shape after childbirth, to find harmony in this time of hormonal re-balancing, but also to develop a bond with your baby while stimulating development with eye contact, hugs and small exercises designed just for your baby.

Those classes are also a great opportunity to:

  • live in moments of well-being, harmony, tenderness
  • regain self-confidence and be comfortable in your body
  • meet other parents and share experiences

Heure du conte (Thursdays from 10AM to 10:45AM):

Children’s stories are a source of discovery of the world and open the door to imagination. It is an ideal time to nourish and stimulate the imagination of children, use their creativity, allowing them to express their dreams and fears, solve riddles, and make connections with their daily lives. It is also a great opportunity to learn to express themselves, build self-confidence, learn new vocabulary, develop the logical sense of a story, and acquire notions of history by travelling through time and space. One thing is certain: stories help children grow...

Glui-gluant (Fridays from 10AM to 11AM):

This program is designed for the discovery of textures, reactions of different ingredients when mixed together, and getting your hands dirty. Sometimes a science experiment and other times simple finger-painting, this program will allow your toddler to get his or her hands dirty without making a mess in your living room!

This family centre is an amazing resource for French-speaking families !! We have participated in most of their activities and go regularly. Their staff is amazing and knowledgeable and very friendly. I hardly use the library anymore as we can find all of our ressources here. Great selection! Did I mention that parents can enjoy a coffee from café bicyclette while the kids play? Allez faire un tour!
