The NSERC Atlantic Chair’s program for Women in Science and Engineering, WISEatlantic, aims to provide junior and senior high school girls access to role models active in the sciences and engineering fields through mentorships, science workshops, and camps. We also support women in SETT careers by providing professional development and networking opportunities.

The Chair is held by Dr. Tamara Franz-Odendaal, Professor of Biology at Mount Saint Vincent University. Dr. Franz-Odendaal leads an active research program in Bone Development at the Mount. Through her research, she has published over fifty research papers and has presented her research both nationally and internationally.
