At NatureBridge, we foster environmental literacy to sustain our planet.
Environmental science in nature’s classroom
NatureBridge provides hands-on environmental science programs for children and teens. Our multi-day programs take place outdoors in the magnificence of nature’s classroom, where students are immersed in the wonder and science of our national parks.
Founded as Yosemite Institute in 1971, today NatureBridge welcomes more than 700 schools and 30,000 students and teachers each year to our six campuses. After more than 40 years of teaching and inspiring students, NatureBridge has provided life-changing experiences for more than 1 million participants and is a national leader in the field of environmental education.
Family & Youth Programs
Stunning ocean views, freshwater pond habitats, and hands-on tidepool touch tanks provide the perfect setting for youth and families of all ages to build lasting connections with nature and each other. Family programs topics include: Oceans Aglow, Moonwatch, and Headlands Nightlife. Family programs take place once a month during the school year and include an educator-led hike, educational activities, and a campfire with s'mores.
Coastal Camp at NatureBridge
A day at Coastal Camp is a day spent connecting with nature. Coastal Camp's weekly themes vary and topics include: marine biology, coastal ecology, conservation, and cultural history. With the Marin Headlands as our backdrop, campers learn more about the topics they love in a unique coastal setting. Everyday we explore the park and engage campers' curious minds and boundless energy by having fun and investigating the natural world. Our highly qualified staff engage campers’ interests and curiosity with a program that is flexible and adaptive to each group's needs.
