About

Sunnymont-Westside is a Nursery School. We like the term "nursery school" better than "preschool" because nursery school IS school for young children, not practice for "real school" later.

Sunnymont-Westside is a developmental, child-centered program children receive a great academic foundation through play.

Children are encouraged to develop at their own rate in a safe and warm environment with art, music, science, math, creative play, literacy, and movement activities a part of all classes.

Our teachers plan a curriculum with specific learning goals in mind, providing students with many opportunities for play and exploration. Social learning is probably the most important aspect of our nursery school.

As a parent co-op our school is owned and operated by its users. Each family contributes to the running of our school, and Sunnymont-Westside families find that the rewards of participation are well worth the effort! The children enjoy an affordable, high-quality preschool program with a high adult/child ratio, and the parents become members of a vibrant and supportive group of families who help each other with difficulties large or small.

Classes

1 day toddler class

• 15 - 30 months (by Sept 01)
• Meets Tuesday 12:30-2:30pm
• Adult to child ration 1:1

2 day class

• 2 years 3 months - 3 years 6 months (by Sept 01)
• Meets Tues and Thurs 9:30 - 12 noon
• Adult to child ration 1:3

3 day class

• 3 years 3 months - 4 years 6 months (by Sept 01)
• Meets Mon, Wed, Fri 9:30 - 12 noon
• Adult to child ration 1:4

 4 day pre-K class

• 4 years 3 months - 5 years 11 months (by Sept 01)
• Meets Mon - Thurs 9:00 - 12 noon
• Adult to child ration 1:5
