Recipe for Success Foundation

About

Recipe for Success Foundation is dedicated to combatting childhood obesity by changing the way our children understand, appreciate and eat their food, and by educating and mobilizing the community to provide healthier diets for children.
Now celebrating our 10th Anniversary Year, we have developed a comprehensive experiential learning program that makes healthy food fun, we promote healthy eating with books, contests and public awareness campaigns, and we work to make affordable, healthy food available to everyone. We envision a world where healthy eating is the norm and a culture where nutritious food is shared, appreciated and celebrated.

Services

Recipe for Success Foundation was launched in 2005 by Gracie & Bob Cavnar to lead the way in combatting childhood obesity by changing the way children understand, appreciate and eat their food and by helping the community provide healthier diets for our kids.  In just a few years, our hands-on curriculum grew to the largest outreach of its kind in the nation, empowering over 4,000 children each and every month with our evidence-based, signature Seed-to-Plate Nutrition Education™. Other initiatives, like theVegOut! Challenge, Farmers MarKIDS, Hope Farms and Eat It! Food Adventures, promote a culture where nutritious food is shared, appreciated and celebrated in Houston and nationwide.

In Houston, we have cooking summer camps available throughout the summer:
