OVER 50 YEARS OF FUNNY
The Second City opened its doors on a snowy Chicago night in December of 1959. No one could have guessed that this small cabaret theatre would become the most influential and prolific comedy theatre in the world. With its roots in the improvisational games of Viola Spolin, The Second City developed an entirely unique way of creating and performing comedy.
Second City Comedy Camps are a place to exercise your creative energies in our improvisation and comedy writing camps! Campers play fun improv games to help access creativity, boost self-confidence and develop spontaneity and playfulness.
Any Youth or Teen student can take a class with The Second City! We welcome all experience levels. Classes are led by performers/instructors who are experienced working with young students.
The Second City offers a variety of special workshops from educational to in-class to question-and-answer panels with special visiting artists. Each year we bring our unique brand of improvisation, humor and learning to thousands of participants.
