Reviews of Friends of the Royal Saskatchewan Museum
My children and I are visiting family in Regina this summer and we thought attending a camp with other kids would be fun. Since they loved the museum last summer, a camp there sounded like just the thing. Not the case :( The counselors were not suited to working with kids, the campers were sequestered in one room for almost the entire 8 hour camp, and despite my usually happy and eager to follow the rules son being so upset that he cried (he is 9 years old and NOT one who complains and cries) and asked to call his parents, he was denied. My daughter (10 years old) argued on his behalf and was also told that calling parents was not an option. My kids did not go back for the rest of the week and will never attend a camp at the Royal Saskatchewan Museum ever again.
I sent 4 children (ages 5 to 10) to the Wet and Wild summer camp at the museum. The kids spent the entire day in the Paleo Pit in the basement except for 45 minutes outside at lunch. All the kids did the same crafts so they weren't age appropriate for the 9 or 10-year-old. The kids weren't taken to explore the museum and were told they couldn't contact us. After the first day, none of the kids wanted to go back because the activities were not engaging and the counsellors didn't treat them well. I let staff know my concerns but they did not refund any of my money.
