Located on Pier 59 on the Elliott Bay waterfront, the Seattle Aquarium is the largest aquarium in the U.S. based on attendance. To date, it has welcomed over 27 million visitors and provided marine education to two million school children. Our goal is for every single visitor to learn about the natural and animal life living within the Puget Sound and what can be done to preserve it.
The Aquarium opened in 1977, and today it has six major animal exhibits: Window on Washington Waters, Life on the Edge, Pacific Coral Reef, Birds & Shores, the Underwater Dome and Marine Mammals. Learn about aquatic animals and marine science topics at regular events and programs for children, adults, families, and school groups. We also offer youth summer camps!
