I have never written a bad review in my life but feel it necessary at this time to prevent people from experiencing the same stress, disappointment and financial burden that I have experienced. I too wish I had read the reviews online and at BBB as I am now stuck with a $627 charge on my credit card and scrambling to make my daughter’s 8th birthday memorable. My initial contact with Melissa was very professional and prompt until I prepaid for an Ultimate party at MudPie playhouse that was not open yet. She assured me on March 11, 2018, at the time of the booking that I would be contacted in April to have a tour and only half of the $1254 would be charged on my credit card as a deposit. On March 12, 2018, I contacted her as I noticed I was charged the full amount. Melissa responded right away saying that she would look into and fix it immediately but still no refund for the half the amount that she was not supposed to charge and very minimal contact after that. Also, I requested a confirmation of booking and contract. On April 21, 2018, I sent a message asking for the full refund of the party as I cancelled due to the lack of trust that I had in Melissa and any company she was affiliated with but no response. On April 26th, 2018, due to the lack of trust with Melissa and her company, I had no choice but to make a claim with visa card disputes to attempt to get my initial deposit 50% deposit back, which I did through visa disputes. On April 27th, 2018, Melissa finally returned my phone calls stating MudPie Playhouse was no longer proceeding. I stated I only wanted a full refund (the other half) and an invoice stating this. May 4th, 2018, still no invoice confirming that I wanted to cancel the party. Melissa responded by stating she was working with Chase bank and would hear back from them in 48 hours. Well guess what, On June 2, 2018, I had to request the confirmation again. Finally, an email sent by MudPie café “stating party is cancelled due the project MudPie Playhouse has been on permanent hold due to construction and permit delays. As a result, the following party booking will need to be canceled” (even though I had sent a message and phone call requesting to cancel the party). Melissa noted I needed to reference a number when you call your credit card company so they may reverse the charge on your credit card. June 25, 2018. Very disappointing day as the credit card company is now stating that I cannot dispute the other half of the paid amount. My credit card is suggesting put in a complaint with BBB and Consumer Protection but I must deal with Melissa directly. As you have read this has been going on since March and now it is June. I still have a charge on my visa for $627 that I am trying to get back.
