For more than 23 years, Franklin School of Performing Arts (FSPA) has been providing the Williamson County area with outstanding dance and acting instruction. Our faculty are professionally trained dancers and actors with a commitment to providing unsurpassed instruction along with individual attention in a nurturing, non-competition, learning environment. Through exploration, creativity, and high quality technical training, we facilitate the development of the joy of movement and expression!
Our Cool Springs facility has two beautiful studios with professionally sprung marley floors and a fully equipped Pilates studio.
FSPA is a contemporary arts institution with longstanding roots in Williamson County. The organization was formed by former Nikolais Dance Theater Company member, Kaylee Cahoon in 1991 with a mission of bringing cutting edge contemporary dance training to Middle Tennessee.
FSPA is dedicated to high quality technical training within a non-competitive environment. Our multi-disciplined curriculum values each student’s individuality and the creative process, and is designed to promote a positive body image and highly attuned physical and spatial awareness. FSPA is a nurturing and dynamic setting for both recreational and career minded students.
Weekly classes offered are in Classical Ballet, Modern, Improvisation, Composition, Repertory, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, and Acting. Guest faculty and workshops are also presented throughout the year in Cultural dance, Character, Musical Theater and a variety of Movement Therapies. In the summers we offer a 6 week class session, masterclasses, as well as specialty one week camps such as Acting Boot Camp, Musical Theater Camp, and Ballet Princess Camp!
The Franklin School of Performing Arts currently offers the certified ABT (American Ballet Theater) curriculum. Many of our alumni can be found On and Off Broadway and in Professional Dance and Theater Companies across the world. We love bringing alumni back as guest faculty for our students!
Franklin School of Performing Arts is actively engaged in a mission of outreach to bring performing arts training to disadvantaged children and children without access to the arts. FSPA continues to reinvent its curriculum from year to year in an effort to offer the most responsive, creative and diverse program for our community.
