We play baseball. And we play it well.
Players will be grouped by age, ability and prior experience. Program emphasis will be on individual skills, fundamentals and beginning team strategy. Areas covered will include outfield play, infield play, pitching, rundowns, baserunning, sliding, double plays, and much more. Check in and all instruction will be held at the Stanford Varsity Baseball Field (Sunken Diamond). Stanford Baseball has renovated the batting cage area with over $1million in im- provements. Participants will hit every day in the cage area. Coach to camper ratio is 1 coach for every 10 players. All campers will receive a Stanford Baseball hat and camp t-shirt.
The skills learned in Baseball School will be put into game situations. Each team, consisting of 9 players, will play together and be coached by the same coach all week. 50% of each session is devoted to games and the other 50% to hitting in batting cages and viewing baseball videos. Games will be played on Sunken Diamond, our astroturf field and adjoining grass fields.
This summer will mark the 45th consecutive year that Stanford has run youth age baseball camps. Stanford Baseball Camps have gained national recognition as the some of the finest in the country.
