Kick off the summer at the Oak Bay Tea Party in early June, and then on Father's Day join the whole community along Douglas Street for Car Free YYJ. On July 1st, celebrating Canada Day in the capital is a must. Your kids will love the fireworks, live entertainment, and Canadian enthusiasm. Come August for the long weekend, one of the most popular events in the city is the Victoria Symphony Splash, where tens of thousands of people are in the harbour for a free show from Victoria Symphony, ending with fireworks! Sprinkled throughout the summer are the crowd pleasing free outdoor movies so you can watch a great show snuggled under the stars, or visiting a summer market (most happen weekly).
