While you don't have to know everything “photography” to make good photographs, you do have to spend a lot of time experimenting with your camera. Saturday evening comprises of a 3-hr indoor presentation that leads to the Sunday portion where we’ll head out of town to put new ideas and skills to the test.

13 June Saturday 5-8 PM. Discussion to understanding your camera's settings along with tips for composition, lighting, and exposure that go into the thinking part of image-making. The objective for you to gain a critical foothold on how to analyze a scene and realize which camera settings are required to get the most out of your photography. Learn the critical difference between looking and seeing, and how to develop a natural eye towards making expressive images. Location: TBA.

14 June Sunday* 9 AM-3 PM. Time spent "in the field" where the landscape offers a wide range of photographic opportunities. While there will be hundreds of beautiful scenes to shoot, we'lll focus on the challenge of finding what is both interesting and photogenic. Scouting with our eyes and cameras, we'll examine the layers organizing the elements of a vast space to create scale and graphic interest. Taking a closer look will reveal hundreds of vignettes; the vignette providing a closer and more intimate focus, serving to isolate visually revealing segments of the scene. In no time, you will have a compelling collection of stunning and melancholy photographs. Location: Disclosed closer to the date and subject to accessible backroads.

Now where should you start and what should you do? The fact that you're reading this right now is your key to making the photos you've always hoped for. So congratulations. It's time to register.
