Setting the Stage for Social Competence

A Series of Early Care and Education Workshops Funded by the California Department of Education, Early Learning and Care Division

Participants will take a preventative approach to challenging behavior and plan activities that promote pro-social skills. Participants will learn specific strategies, using the environment and adult-child interaction, to facilitate friendship and build community.

TOPICS INCLUDE:

Social-emotional guidance

The use of social stories

California's Preschool Learning Foundations

Building a sense of self.

Free. Registration required.

* Please note: These workshops are intended for licensed family child care providers and assistants, and privately operated child care center staff who work with mixed age children.
