Beaverton City Library's Family Resource Fair is a free, community event for families with children (infants through elementary school).
The Family Resource Fair features engaging displays, activities for children and information for adults from over 20 local nonprofit organizations. Exhibits highlight a wide range of topics, including children’s healthcare, educational support for kids of all abilities, nutritional services, fine arts, mentoring, and more.
Parents and caregivers can take advantage of a kid-friendly format and learn about low-cost/no-cost programs. Kids play while learning about everything from healthy eating to local recreation activities to bicycle safety.
Families are encouraged to visit tables and talk with representatives about programs and services. Families who visit five tables will receive one free raffle ticket. Drawing prizes include passes to fun family activities, birthday party packages, free meals at local restaurants, and much more.
Children attending the fair will receive one free book while supplies last. In addition, children ages three to seven years old, not already tested in other programs, can receive free vision screenings. Early screenings are critical so that children receive eye exam referrals before they begin formal reading instruction.
