Doors Open - Colborne Lodge

This activity has finished and is no longer running.

Step back in time and see one-of-a-kind sights as you explore Colborne Lodge, the original High Park home of John and Jemima Howard. Costumed interpreters share stories of the Victorian-era Howards, their lives and household, including plumbing highlights like Toronto’s earliest intact indoor toilet. Don't miss a rare opportunity to see inside John Howard's original picture gallery in the Coach House, possibly Toronto's first public art gallery, illuminated by natural light.

Colborne Lodge is one of 10 Toronto History Museums that explore where Toronto's many pasts, presents and futures meet. The museum explores 19th-century innovation and creativity, city building, science, technology and design as exemplified by John Howard one of Toronto's first architects.
