The best festivals are the cold ones.
Join us for Boardwalk Ice On Whyte and the International Ice Carving Exhibit on January 23 to February 2, 2020
Boardwalk Ice on Whyte is delightfully fun-filled winter experience. When you visit the event, you would find yourself surrounded by the best of winter. The International Ice Carving Competition is one of only three ice carving competitions in Canada. Be inspired and amazed as up to 10 teams of professional artists work to create jaw-dropping icy splendors.
The competition will be held in a tent to control the temperature and protect the sculptures from the outside environment. Be amazed by blocks of ice that have been transformed into masterpieces of art.
Create Your Own Ice Carving
After viewing the ice sculptures, take a shot at creating your own small ice carving in a heated tent. The tent will host L’il & Big Chipper classes for people of all ages. In the evening the grounds are lit with colourful accent lights. Visit the Ice Bar Tent for a locally crafted beverage and stroll around the park taking in this feast for your eyes.
Complete your Old Strathcona Experience and get great deals on dining, entertainment, and activities during Boardwalk Ice On Whyte. Offers will be available soon.
