About Trevor Heathorn:
Trevor was given Matchbox toys between the ages of 7-11 during the 1960’s in England. He played with (and damaged) those models through childhood and didn’t re-discover them as collectibles in the United States until the 1980’s. It was then that his collection of pre-1970 toys began to grow over the next 20 years.

Trevor will be discussing the history of the Matchbox company from its founding after WW2 and onwards through the 1970’s.
He will cover the various ranges of toys that were produced including the 1-75, major pack, king size, accessories and models of yesteryear. He will also share his knowledge about the variations in models, which account for their rarity and value.

About Charlie Pack:
As a youngster Charlie’s father bought him several Erector sets, but he always wanted more. Now, as a retired software engineer, professional accountant, and amateur mechanical engineer he is able to obtain all the parts he has ever wanted.
Charlie builds models from parts of old Erector, Meccano and other metal construction systems. He even makes customized pieces to fit his creations. He builds models of real life items rather than models in instruction books and many are his own design, which are built to scale.

Charlie will be demonstrating several models and explaining their technical workings.
He will also be discussing construction history and nuances of mechanical design.
