Use your 5 senses to explore the hidden life of herbs, on a gentle trek through Calgary's parks.
Right here in the city, and we will find an abundance of plants to enjoy as food, medicine, shelter and tools. Some of these ‘weeds’ were brought from Europe by the Settlers, while others have lived here for thousands of years.
Meeting these plants and hearing their stories is a fun way to gain respect for the local ecosystems (indigenous and introduced) that make up the plant-world of Calgary. By understanding our unique place in the web of life, we honor and protect ourselves and our home planet.
