Did you know that people have been flying kites for over 2,000 years?

From delicate kites made out of leaves to unique kites used for fishing to large kites that can actually lift people into the air, the kite has played an important role in aviation history. Come get the story of these incredible yet simple flying objects, then make and decorate your own kite to fly at home!

Explore the exciting world of flight in fun hands-on workshops offered every Saturday and Sunday! Family workshops are free with Museum admission and open to all ages (kids six and under should come with an adult helper). Groups with 10 or more children please call ahead to find out whether we will be able to accommodate your group
