This weekly workshop with Stephen Zwerling will cover the basics of woodworking. You will make a small rectangular covered box. Over the four sessions, you will learn how to read a plan, measure and mark out cuts, hand plane wood and cut it to specific dimensions, make mitered joints, and assemble and finish your box. All tools and materials provided.
Stephen Zwerling, a native Nova Scotian, originally studied photography in New York and film production in England. After being active in photography in Toronto and Halifax, including teaching at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University, Stephen turned to his avocation of woodturning. He is a founding member of the Nova Woodturners' Guild. His studio overlooks St. Margaret's Bay at Boutilier's Point in Nova Scotia.
