The musical traditions of Asia have inspired composers and musicians for centuries. The unique sounds of Japanese taiko drums, Chinese folksongs, and Indonesian percussion have even been woven into the fabric of symphony orchestras with extraordinary results. Join the SF Symphony and Resident Conductor Christian Reif as they take you on a fascinating tour of music that celebrates Asian cultures, from composers such as Bright Sheng, Maurice Ravel, and Lou Harrison.
Come early and collect stamps for your musical passport, enjoy lobby activities such as the instrument petting zoo, coloring stations, and our conductor photo station. Ticket holders receive free online materials to enhance musical discovery at home.
Ticket prices range from $13.50 to $64.
