Lightwire Theater combines dance, puppetry, and technology, using innovative glow-in-the-dark costumes to tell a compelling story about acceptance, diversity, and bullying. In Moon Mouse: A Space Odyssey, Marvin the Mouse attends high school. He wants to be popular, but is picked on by the "cool" rats and labeled a geek. Marvin longs to be a hero, retreating into his science books and building a rocket that takes him to the moon. Set to classic favorites, such as Elton John's "Rocket Man" and David Bowie's "Space Oddity," more than 40 luminous characters operated by only five performers take the audience on a fun-for-all-ages journey through space.

"The story is really important," says Eleanor Carney, co-creator of Lightwire Theater along with her husband Ian Carney. "The message is really clear. Bullying is a huge deal in schools today, and everyone can relate." Lightwire Theater appeared as semi-finalists on NBC's "America's Got Talent," raking in accolades across the judges' table with their brilliant electro-luminescent stage show. Today, the company continues to build all of its pieces from the ground up, combining electro-luminescent wire with recycled materials to create spectacular neon creatures such as aliens, dinosaurs, and even 16-foot-tall birds.
