Three extraordinary musicians come together for an afternoon of captivating solos, duets and trios in this Sunday Serenade.
Joseph Elworthy has been a featured soloist, recitalist, and chamber music performer on such stages as Alice Tully Hall, Suntory Hall, Carnegie Hall, the Library of Congress and Sejong Hall. Joseph has been named a Fellow of The Royal Conservatory of Music for his extraordinary contribution to Canadian Arts and Culture, an honour he shares with such cultural icons as Oscar Peterson, Robertson Davies, Adrienne Clarkson and Leon Fleisher. He plays on a rare Ferdinando Gagliano circa 1760 that once belonged to the legendary German cellist, Hugo Becker.
Since her first public performance at age eight in her native Seoul, violinist Chee-Yun has enraptured audiences on five continents with her flawless technique, dazzling tone and compelling artistry. Chee-Yun has performed regularly with the world’s foremost orchestras, including the Philadelphia Orchestra, the London Philharmonic, and the Toronto, Houston, Seattle, Pittsburgh, Atlanta and National symphony orchestras, as well as with numerous distinguished conductors.
As well as wowing audiences at his own recitals, Ian Parker has appeared with some of the finest orchestras in the world. Magnetic, easy-going, and delightfully articulate, he captivates audiences wherever he goes. He is an active soloist, collaborator, recitalist and recording artist and has performed across the United States, Western Europe, Israel and throughout Canada on tours with Debut Atlantic and Jeunesses Musicales du Canada. Ian made his Lincoln Center recital debut at the Walter Reade Theater in 2004.
