Jack DeJohnette · Larry Grenadier · John Medeski · John Scofield
Arts Commons, Jack Singer Concert Hall
Tuesday, October 17, 2017

It’s hard to talk about jazz – and impossible to talk about jazz drumming and percussion – without talking about Jack DeJohnette. A legendary drummer, DeJohnette has cemented his reputation as one of the most versatile and influential musicians of his time. To celebrate his 75th birthday, DeJohnette invites bassist Larry Grenadier, keyboardist John Medeski, and guitarist John Scofield to join him in an amazing new collaboration, resulting in a beautiful new album and a live performance not to be missed!

This all-star band calls themselves HUDSON, named after the Hudson River Valley they all affectionately call home. New York’s idyllic Hudson River Valley has inspired generations of musicians and artists including the folk and rock movement that led to the era-defining Woodstock Festival of 1969. It is home to more artists per-capita than any other area in the country, including New York City.
HUDSON reaches beyond the realm of jazz to rock, folk, and beyond, mixing original music with extraordinary renditions of songs inspired by Hudson River Valley by the likes of Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Jimi Hendrix and The Band's Robbie Robertson.

Arts Commons invites you to experience a memorial evening with four of the world's most influential jazz musicians that will transport you into the heart of the beautiful and breathtaking Hudson Valley.
