Don’t miss this special summer edition of Happenings, the best art party in town! Come for the art, stay for the party. Happenings is a FREE event open to the public - bring your friends and family!

Arts Commons keeps the party going for Canada’s sesquicentennial year with Happenings 9: Heritage and Canadian Dreams. Come enjoy an evening of art, live music, short workshops, panel discussions, and hands-on art activities in Centre Court of Arts Commons.

Explore what the next 150 years will look like when Indigenous, female, immigrant, and queer voices are included in the conversation of who we are as Canadians. Arts Commons will come alive in celebration of the visual and media artists featured in our galleries.

We are celebrating the following exhibitions in the Arts Commons galleries:

The Ledge Gallery: Terrance Houle

Window Galleries: Hannah Doerksen, Nicole Kelly Westman, Areum Kim, and sisters Brittney and Richelle Bear Hat

Broadcast Lab (formerly Gallery of Alberta Media Arts): JP Marchant, Michael Janke, and Susan Clarahan

Lightbox Studio: Jake Klein-Waller

+15 Soundscape: Kerry Maguire
