Happy 70th WSO

Event at Centennial Concert Hall

Tagged in: Concerts, Weekend

Celebration Victor Feldbrill, conductor of the WSO from 1958-1968, returns to open the 70th season of the WSO alongside Maestro Mickelthwate. Feldbrill transformed the WSO into the professional orchestra we know today. For this special performance he has chosen Beethoven’s dramatic Leonore Overture No.3. Brahms swore to carry on Beethoven’s symphonic legacy, yet had such self-doubt it took twenty-one years to write his angst-ridden first symphony. His Second went much faster, completed in a single summer, and it reflects the beauty of nature, flowers, and sunshine.
