It will celebrate and showcase distinct Korean culture to thousands of Korean Calgarians, as well as any other fellow Calgarians participating in the city's cultural events.
The immigration history of the Korean people in Calgary is long and eventful. Korean pioneers in Calgary first laid the foundations for the current population of 15000. Last year Prime Minister Harper has proclaimed the Year 2013 as the Year of Korea in Canada. Even on a national level, Korea is making its way to gaining recognition for its unique Korean Canadian history.
We hope this year will become a time to remember all the contributions and efforts that Korean Canadians have made, as well as a time to give back to Canadian society. In addition to this Year 2014 is 40th year of Alberta-Gangwon Provinces twinning year. In celebration of these two proclamations, the Calgary Korean Association cordially invites you to the 11th Annual Korean Day Festival.
