What is Word Camp?

A youth spoken word residency, Word Camp brings together up to 12 aspiring poets and storytellers aged 15-20 for four days of workshops and performances with a world-class faculty of artists from across Canada. Participants receive 15 hours of workshop time, get to perform in two evening events, and enjoy an evening out at legendary Vancouver nerd bar and favorite hangout of local poets, Storm Crow Tavern!

2019's faculty includes: Vancouver Poet Laureate, Christie Lee Charles; 2016 Canadian Festival of Spoken Word Poet of Honour, Jillian Christmas (Vancouver); author of Worthy of Love, Andre Fenton (Halifax); and internationally renowned loop poet and vocalist, Moe Clark (Montreal).
