Youth Learn to Row - Intermediate

Run by Victoria City Rowing Club Ages 11-17 yrs



The Youth Learn to Row - Intermediate is a great program to engrain good rowing technique after completing the Youth Learn to Row - Beginner or Youth Summer Camp. The Intermediate program will build on the skills learned in these programs. The emphasis is on building a complete stroke; timing in crew boats; and enhancing your awareness of balance.
Straight out of a Summer Camp or Beginner program or after a full year of rowing, every participant in this program will be challenged to improve their rowing skills and boat awareness. Don't hesitate to let our coaches know if you are interested in learning a specific skill.

Learned skills include:
- Correct sequencing
- Good rhyme
- Clean finishes of the stroke
- Clean blade work
- Quick and sharp catches
- Relaxed but activate core resulting in good posture
- Build fitness
- Docking the boat stern and bow first
