Junior Wings, Wheels, and Sails (Mornings Only)
Everyone has to travel, and engineers are involved in all the steps of designing different modes of transportation as well as inventing and designing tools that aid in travel.
Everyone’s travel needs are different, weather they need to walk around their local community to do errands, or they need to be half way across the world by evening! During this camp, your child will get their passports and travel to a new country every day by a different means! They will engineer their mode of transportation or tool to aid in transportation daily to get to their destination country. At the end of the week, they will have built several different means to travel by, and have a passport full of culture and all their memories from the week from the places they visited.
In Wings, Wheels, and Sails, your child will explore areas of engineering such as mechanical, civil, marine, and aerospace engineering. They will explore the thought process behind road design, construct shapes that make sound bridges and test them, design a boat to float across the ocean, and discover and build designs that let us travel through the air and even into space.
Junior Industrial Engineering (Afternoons Only)
Industrial Engineering plays a larger role in our daily lives than most would imagine. Individuals employed in this fast-growing field are accountable for maintaining high standards of efficiency in factory settings and ensuring all systems are optimized for maximum production output. Industrial engineers design machinery, parts, and systems that help to promote a steady workflow and minimize many different types of economical waste.
The curriculum for the Junior Industrial Engineering program is designed to introduce your child to simple machinery, cooperative building, and the assembly line processes in a hands-on setting. Your child will actively explore time management, production efficiency, and other aspects of systems and materials engineering during this unit.
Junior Civil Engineering
Civil engineering is one of the widest-reaching disciplines in the engineering field. Civil engineers must work cooperatively with architects, local governments, citizens, and other engineers to successfully build large- and small-scale projects. Civil engineers use aspects of physics, mathematics, and computer technology to create plans and drawings that are used by different professionals to build structures.
The curriculum for the Junior Civil Engineering program is designed to introduce your child to the job of a civil engineer, the field of civil engineering, and basic concepts of engineering as it relates to building and construction. Through open exploration and focused exploration, your child will design and construct their own skyscrapers, bridges, and houses.
