Movement skills are essential life skills. Unfortunately Canadian children are not getting enough physical activity to have positive health benefits such as healthy body, good mental health and self-regulation skills. Physical literacy is the gateway to physical activity. This workshop explores the four components of physical literacy and how you can have a positive impact on the children in your care. This hands-on workshop explores games, activities and teaching tips that can be used outdoors or in the classroom during our rainy winter months. Participants will be given resource materials for lesson planning. Workshop participants should bring running shoes and a good sense of humour, athletic skills not required!
