Act 2 (Ages 9 to 12)

Run by Kate Rubin Theatre at SKAM Studios

Tagged in: Academics, After School, Performing Arts

This is a class for drama students who are keen, focused and ready to take the next level of theatrical schooling. It is not necessary to have prior dramatic training but they need to have proficient reading skills and be able to work well with others. Students will continue to expand and develop basic theatrical skills in movement, voice, acting techniques, improvisation, stage presence and awareness. Script work may be used depending on the Instructor’s discretion. Dramatic games and material are adapted to match their maturity and ability. They will also work on observation skills, team-building and performance skills, to perform their creative work at the end of the term before an in-studio audience. Group participation and commitment is crucial to the building of a working ensemble of students, therefore attendance is important and expected. Students are encouraged to join for more than one term as the class will work together to create a different presentation at the end of each session.

The classes will culminate in a sharing of student’s work before an in-studio audience plus a showcase at Langham Court Theatre in December.

Fall Session
September 14th - November 30th (12 Weeks)
Thursdays: 4:30pm – 6pm
