Explore robotics and engineering with the LEGO Spybotics smart module which has built-in motors and an infrared light receiver. Build an upright robot, a Mars rover, a speedy sports car, and lots of fun creatures. Control your creations with a remote, maneuvering around obstacles and playing games and missions. The missions teach students how robots are used to solve real-world problems. As young engineers, the students also learn how motors work, how wheels and axles create movement, and how to design with LEGO components. You'll also learn about robot coding as students press buttons on a programmable Robot Mouse to guide it in games and missions. Give instructions to a programmable Robot Mouse by pressing its directional movement buttons. Play soccer and help our mousebot get through mazes! Robot Mouse is a hands-on, team-oriented programming activity which builds coding, logical thinking, sequencing, estimation, and problem solving skills. By the end of the week, students will have gained knowledge in building and operating both remote-control and programmable robots while having tons of fun! This class can be paired with Zoo Zanimals for a full day option.
