This level builds skills and endurance for the front crawl (50m), back crawl (50m) and elementary backstroke (3 x 25m) and introduces whip kick on the front. Swimmers learn about airway and breathing obstructions and participate in timed treading water using the eggbeater skill for 3 minutes to improve their ability to remain at the surface of the water in the event of an unexpected fall into water. Swimming endurance is increased to a 150-metre swim.
