6-12 yrs
Sessions offered between

This class is a prerequisite to the Blades skating program for the true beginner: those who have never been on the ice and those who do not know how to skate. If you have basic skating experience please attend an evaluation session. In this level, children learn about safety on the ice, how to fall down and stand up, walk on the ice without assistance and are introduced to stopping, gliding and sculling. By the end of this level children need to be able to skate the width of the rink with confidence using both feet along with demonstrating other building blocks. A CSA approved hockey or snow sports helmet is mandatory for all skate lesson programs.
