Guitar Group Lessons

Run by Millbrae Recreation Department Ages 16+ yrs

Learn to play the guitar and experience the joy of making music! Level I class is for beginners or guitarists who want to start a course from the beginning. In addition to learning basic techniques for guitar, you will also learn to read all forms of musical notation for the guitar. Much focus is on developing a foundation for performing, and you'll begin to play solo and ensemble pieces. Level II class is for beginning/intermediate guitar players who know triads/7th chords in the open position and are ready to shift up and down the fretboard playing bar chords and movable scales. The class will rehearse blues, classical, rock, folk music, etc. so the student should have some experience reading standard music notation. Guitar Ensemble is a continuing class is for guitarists who already play and can read music to some degree. You'll learn more advanced techniques, practical theory, and improvisation then apply these skills to a variety of classical, blues, rock tunes, and more!
