Alameda Martial Arts offers their own unique brand of mixed martial arts: LockBoxing™. The LockBoxing Black Belt Academy is dedicated to giving students a broad education in martial arts as well as the social and emotional life skills that come with team training and group fitness. The International Chi Institute is proud to have provided exciting Kung Fu and Qi Gong classes for both children and adults at it's beautiful and spacious studio. Each Semester will conclude with a performance featuring the talented students of the program. Classes are available for everyone aged 5 and up.
Classes are offered in Uechi Ryu Kareate, fitness training and Qi Gong. Uechi-Ryu is a discipline of Okinawan karate which combines soft circular blocks with hard, linear strikes, and intensive body conditioning. It is a system of self-defense which prepares the practitioner to overcome challenges, whether from an opponent or from the trials of everyday life. The children's martial arts program is available for kids aged 6-15, while the Little Tigers program is geared for children aged 4-6.
Master Instructor and Owner Kenneth A. Pitts has taught martial arts for more than 25 years. Lessons are offered in several disciplines, that will help increase self-confidence, improved concentration, and reduce shyness in children wile providing martial arts instruction. He also teaches a special class especially for children on the Autism spectrum and has worked with children with special needs for more than 20 years.
USAKFS After-School program teaches self-discipline, confidence, self-defense, coordination, patience and sportsmanship. Students will exercise, get stronger, and stretch to become more flexible, while also improving academic skills.
