Moving can be an ordeal for families with young children. Whether you're moving across town or across the world the change of scenery, friends and school will all have a significant impact on your kids. Below are some suggestions for making the experience more family-friendly make your move easier

Children's books:  These can be a real lifesaver during a road-trip!  If your kids aren't that into reading, grab an audiobook for them to listen to during the drive.

Music:  Having some music the kids enjoy will definitely make your move easier.  It may be difficult to listen to children's songs for an extended trip so make sure you have some child-friendly alternatives that they enjoy too.

Glow sticks:  If you're traveling at night these are a great way to keep your kids occupied. If you're not driving it might be fun to channel your inner Jedi and pretend the glow sticks are lightsabers! Or, use the opportunity to educate the kids by explaining what they are made out of and how they work.

Snacks:  Have a nice selection of your kids' favorite snacks prepared to keep them distracted, and to ward off low blood-sugar melt-downs  – just remember to grab some for yourself too!

Conversation games:  These are a great way to keep both kids and adults entertained during long drives! Try The Alphabet game, I Spy, Twenty Questions, and The Echo game.
