Summer Outdoor Movies in Portland

Watch one of your favorite movies right under the stars! Outdoor movies are quickly becoming a summer trend with added pre-movie entertainment. Check out the schedule here.

Over the past few years there has been a huge surge in demand for free outdoor movies. But who can blame us? There's no better way to spend a summer evening than taking the big screen outdoors. Luckily for us, Portland Parks & Recreation and Pioneer Courthouse Square, are providing a great line up of FREE outdoor movies for summer 2019! 

Bring a blanket or lawn chair and dress warmly!


Summer 2019 Outdoor Movie Schedule


Movies in the Park by Portland Parks and Recreation

Portland Parks and Recreation has planned a summer filled of movies at different parks around Portland. As an added bonus, pre-movie entertainment by local musicians starts at 6:30pm (unless otherwise noted) and there's free popcorn. Score! All movies begin after dusk. 


Black Panther (PG-13)


Friday, June 21

King School Park

T-Challa, heir to the kingdom of Wakanda, leads his people as they take on enemies from their kingdom's past. 

Pre-movie entertainment: 2019 Good in the Hood Multicultural Festival, starts at 6pm 


Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald (PG-13)


Friday, July 5

Brooklyn Park

After escaping prison, the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald gathers his followers to start a movement against the inferior muggles. Albus Dumbledore, Hogwarts headmaster, gets Newt Scamander to lead the fight against Grindelwald.

Floyd Light Park

Follow Smurfette and her friends as they race through the Forbidden Forest, come in contact with the evil wizard Gargamel, and discover the greatest secret in Smurf history.

Warner Pacific University

Jamal Malik, a youth from the slums of Mumbai is about to win India's "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" when he is arrested for "cheating." The movie travels back through Jamal's life to reveal how he knows so much.

Optimus Prime sends Bumblebee to Earth to establish a base where the Autobots can regroup after being attacked by the Decepticons. Bumblebee ends up in a junkyard in California where he comes in contact with Charlie, an almost 18-year-old girl who is finding her place in the world.

Gateway Discovery Park

Bobbie Fischer, a chess grandmaster, plays against the Soviet world champion during the Cold War. Bobbie is under a lot of pressure to win this chess match that symbolises the tensions between East and West. 

Pre-movie entertainment: 11th Annual Slavic Festival, starting at 10am



Flicks on the Bricks at Pioneer Courthouse Square 

SmartPark is presenting five movies on Friday evenings in July and August at Portland Courthouse Square. Pre-movie music begins at 7pm and all movies begin at dusk. Admission is free, but make sure to bring some comfy lawn chairs and cushions to sit on!
