Top Summer Attractions for Families in Winnipeg

Cirque du Soleil Varekai

Deep within a forest, at the summit of a volcano, exists an extraordinary world-a world where something is possible. A world called Varekai.

The sky lets go a solitary young man, and the story of Varekai begins. Parachuted into the shadows of a magical forest, a kaleidoscopic world imbued with fantastical creatures, a young man takes flight in an adventure both absurd and extraordinary. On this day at the edge of time, in this place of pure and undiluted possibility, begins an inspired incantation to a life rediscovered and to a newly found wonder in the mysteries of the world and the mind.

Varekai will be at the MTS Centre from June 24th - 28th, 2015.

Marvel Universe LIVE!

Marvel fans, assemble - Marvel Universe LIVE! is taking the live entertainment experience to a whole new level, with a mind-blowing show unlike anything you’ve seen before. Watch your favourite Marvel Super Heroes including Spider-Man and The Avengers (Iron Man, Black Widow, Hulk and more) and threatening villains come to life in an action-packed arena extravaganza.

Marvel Universe LIVE! will be at the MTS Centre July 23rd - 26th, 2015.

Rainbow Stage

Since 1954, Rainbow Stage has delivered professional musical theatre. Their mission is not only to produce musical theatre, but also to develop talented Manitoba artists and be supported by enthusiastic audiences. The theatre is located in the heart of Kildonan Park.

This summer, Rainbow Stage is producing such classics as Sister Act, West Side Story, and Les Miserables. Sister Act appears to be suitable for all ages, while the other two may not be quite suitable for some younger viewers.

Assiniboine Park Zoo

With over 200 species and over 1500 furry and feathered friends, the Assiniboine Park Zoo is a great place for exploration and family fun! Rich in tradition, the Zoo has been entertaining locals and tourists for over a century.

One of the highlights for the kids is the indoor Polar Playground, featuring the moving ice-mass floor, an ice cave with hidden message, a responsive Aurora Borealis wall, and a wall-sized icicle xylophone.

Winnipeg Goldeyes

The Winnpeg Goldeyes, the city's professional AA baseball team, is a premiere destination for family fun. All home games at Shaw Park are filled with fun kid activities between innings, giving kids a chance to run on the field and feel like a Pro!  Kids under 15 can even join the Goldeyes Home Run Gang!

Come enjoy a day in the sun, and cheer on the Goldeyes!

The Forks

The Forks is Winnipeg’s long-time downtown meeting place for over 6,000 years, located at the junction of the Assiniboine and mighty Red rivers. Early Aboriginal peoples traded at The Forks, followed by European fur traders, Métis buffalo hunters, Scottish settlers, riverboat workers, railway pioneers and tens of thousands of immigrants.

The tradition continues, with several attractions, tourist destinations and signature events. This summer, don't miss the Canada Day celebration, or the Interstellar Rodeo!

Children's Museum

Built in 1889, the Children’s Museum is housed in the oldest surviving train repair facility in Western Canada. Unlike the no-touch exhibits at other museums, the galleries are always ready for hands-on fun! The latest innovations in education come together at the Children’s Museum with creative environments to provide a powerful experience of combined learning and fun.

This summer, come see the special Hand-On Harley-Davidson Exhibit, on display until September 13th.

Adrenaline Adventures

Located just outside Winnipeg in Headingley, MB, Adrenaline Adventures offers a wide range of activities, including cable wakeboarding, ziplining, paintball, and beach volleyball.  This is great place for active families, especially during July and August, when they offer daily specials.

Tuesday Family Days are best with food specials in the Water's Edge Restaurant, as well as Activity Pass specials!

Tinkertown

Tinkertown is the perfect local amusement park for the whole family. With a good range of children's rides, regular rides, mini-golf, games, a play structure, and water wars, bumper cars, and more, there is something fun for guests of all ages!

Located just outside Winnipeg, in Springfield, MB, admission to Tinkertown is free, but ride tickets must be purchased.

The Golf Dome

Winnipeg's only indoor golf dome provides users with many options for a fun filled day! With over 50 stations on a three tier driving range, 5 virtual bays, 18 hole mini golf, pool tables, and arcade games to choose from.

They are open from 8am - 10pm, 7 days a week. Any questions, feel free to contact them at 204-489-7776
