Christmas Events South Bay 2019

Ready or not, the Christmas season is here. There's so many great events taking place in San Francisco's South Bay this year that are perfect to take the family to. Here's a list of Christmas events to mark on your calendar!

Santana Row Tree Lighting Ceremony

When: November 19, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Where: Santana Row

Bring your friends and family for a night of live music, costumed characters, character meet and greets, face painting, and a special performance of the Nutcracker. Get your first taste of holiday magic this season as Santana Row lights up and as confetti showers all around. The tree lighting main stage performance will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Parade and Tree Lighting - November 29, 2019

Dog Days - December 7 and 14, 2019

Movies Nights - Every Saturday night from November 30, to January 4, 2020

A Christmas Carol: A Holiday Family Favorite

When: Select nights December 5 to 21, 2019
Where: Olinder Theatre

This is a Northside Theatre Company production of the holiday classic A Christmas Carol. It has been dubbed "the best Christmas Carol in the Bay Are" by Mercury News. Experience the magic of Christmas as Ebenezer Scrooge becomes a loving and generous human being. 

Breakfast with Santa

When: December 8, 2019
Where: Fairmont San Jose

What's better than meeting Santa? Meeting Santa AND having breakfast with him! Fill your bellies with a delicious breakfast buffet in the Fairmont's Imperial Ballroom. There will be craft projects for kids, and they can get their picture taken with Santa. Tickets also come with a surprise gift for each child, ice skating at Downtown Ice, and a four-pack of rides at Winter Wonderland. 

San Jose Harvest Festival

When: November 29 to December 1, 2019
Where: San Jose Convention Center

The San Jose Harvest Festival is known as the West Coast’s largest indoor arts and crafts show, offering more than 24,000 handmade and embellished gifts. Throughout the weekend there will be live music and entertainment as well as a hands-on KidZone.

Children's Heritage Holiday

When: December 7, 2019
Where: History Park

Get in the yuletide spirit and celebrate the holidays strolling through History Park, listening to the sounds of Victoria carolers and taking part in some old-fashioned crafts. Santa Claus will arrive at noon! New this year, the New Ballet, San Jose will be performing with costumed characters from the Nutcracker. 

Menorahs and Miracles

When: December 8, 2019
Where: Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose

Menorahs and Miracles is a cultural celebration of Hanukkah that takes place annually on the first Sunday in December at the Children’s Discovery Museum of San Jose. It's organized by the JCC in collaboration with the museum. Participants will enjoy making dreidels, music, and dancing. 

Holiday Train with Off the Grid Food Trucks

When: December 8, 2019
Where: Winter Ice Rink, Downtown Sunnyvale

Join this Christmas tradition to get a large dose of holiday cheer. Festivities begin at the Winter Ice Rink where there will be entertainment, activities, and food trucks. At 7:50 p.m. the brightly lit Caltrain Holiday Train will arrive at Sunnyvale station with holiday treats and Christmas characters, including Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph, and Santa's elves. 

Cirque Dreams: Holidaze

When: December 11 and 12, 2019
Where: San Jose Civic 

Enjoy a night of watching spectacular cirque artists and theatrical talent amaze you. This is a broadway musical and cirque adventure wrapped into one amazing performance. The whole family will enjoy original numbers with snowmen, toy soldiers, candles, penguins, reindeer, carolers, and giant ornaments. 

San Jose Craft Festival

When: December 14 and 15, 2019
Where: South Hall, 435 Market Street

San Jose Craft Holiday Fair will offer a festive, large-scale, all-in-one holiday shopping experience featuring an amazing showcase of handcrafted, artisan, and brilliantly made goods perfect for gifting this holiday season!

Disney Junior Holiday Party!

When: December 19, 2019
Where: San Jose Civic

Your favorite Disney characters are coming to help you celebrate the holidays. There will be singing, dancing, and imaginative decorations. This is great way to liven up the holidays.
