Here are some great summer camps that are available in the Omaha area. Plan your kids' activities early, as these camps are already taking registration:

Top Summer Camps in Omaha

Summer camps are a great way for kids to make new friends, and learn some new skills outside school. With so many camps to choose from, parents are always looking around for the best camp options to suit their kids' interests and family schedules.

To get you started, here is a list of few of our favorite camps (below), but if you can't find what you're looking for here, please keep checking back on our complete summer camps directory as camp providers are adding their schedules to this list every day.

Omaha Christian Academy

Join OCA this summer for exciting weekly sessions of discovery, each centered around a creative theme such as Galaxies and Beyond, Under the Big Top, Around the World and Wild Wild West. At OCA’s Discovery Days, children get to play, learn and grow together in a Christ-centered environment. Sign up for as many sessions as you like and get ready for an action-packed, fun-filled summer!

Omaha Children's Museum

There is something for everyone at the Omaha Children's Museum from June through early August.  

My Little One & Me camps with parents are available for kids aged 2-3, as well as a wider range of themes for kids aged 4-5 and 5-8.  These include fun creative themes such as Kapow! Superhero Training, Misadventures of the OCM Pirates, Princess Poppy's Adventures, among others, as well as more academic themes like Splat! Art Camp, Dora Goes to Kindergarten, and Whiz Bang Super Science Camp.

Lauritzen Gardens

Up-close encounters with nature, tram rides, fun in the model railroad garden, and guided garden exploration are some of the fun activities at the Lauritzen Gardens Summer Adventure Camp! 

Week-long, half-day (9-noon or 1-4pm) or full-day (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) sessions are available for kids aged 4-12.  Kids will learn science and nature through hands-on activities, arts and crafts and more in indoor and outdoor settings. Lunches included!

Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium

There is no shortage of camps themes at Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoom and Aquarium!  With perhaps the most flexible of schedules, their day camps are available in 1-day, 2-day, 4-day, and 5-day sessions for kids aged 5-7, and 8-12.  Overnight camps available as well for the 8-12 age group.  

If you love animals, this is the place to be for educational activities, tours, games, and more!

Nature Discovery Summer Day Camps - Fontenelle Forest

Nature Discovery Day Camps feature science based learning through play.  Whether your child canoes the Great Marsh, takes a low ropes course challenge or builds a kite, they are sure to bring home memories and knowledge that will last a lifetime!  

There are a variety of themes, available, age-appropriate for the following age groups: Grands and Me (for kids aged 4-8 with a grandparent), Discoverers (preschool, aged 4-5), Adventurers (aged 5-8), and Explorers (aged 8-12).

Durham Museum

From June 1 to July 31, you may not find a broader range of topics offered in one venue!  The Durham Museum Summer Camp program is a one-of-a-kind learning experience that sparks imagination – and offers plenty of great fun!  Half-day and full-day programs are available at three age levels, ages 5-6, 7-8 and 9 and older.  

Content will focus on a variety of themes including science, art, history and culture. The Durham also offers before and after care for those families needing to drop off before or pick up after camp.

JCC Omaha

The Jewish Community Center of Omaha offers a comprehensive range of programs designed to inspire children to learn, explore, create and succeed. With sports, arts, field trips, a swimming program, dance, overnights, theme days, there is certain to be something for everyone.  All programming takes place within a creative and caring environment based on Jewish culture and values.

Camp Legacy

Camp Legacy offers camps for two main age groups.  In the Lower Camp (ages 3-5) at Legacy Primary School, campers enjoy camp songs, field trips, water fun, arts & crafts, team building, cooking, nature activities, sports and special events such as tie-dying, carnival, and "Minute-to-Win-It" games. 

The Upper Camp (K-6th grade) is located on 11 acres in Bennington. Campers enjoy a true outdoor summer camp experience. Activities include the zip line, swimming pool, archery, basketball, obstacle course, amphitheater, nature trail, and more!

Omaha Sports Academy 

Omaha Sports Academy is your choice to develop your basketball skills! Point Guard/Shooting Guard camps and 2000 Shots concentrate on specialised skills for kids in 3rd-8th Grade.  Other camps offer more general skills, and cater to different age groups (K-2, 3rd-8th Grade, or K-8th).  Girls-only camps are available as well.

Work on your ball handling, defense, passing, and shooting where there is "A smile on every face; Sweat through every jersey."!

Strategic Air Command and Aerospace Museum

All camps are led by the Museum’s education staff and include hands-on fun activities to create engaging camp experiences. Campers can choose from a variety of themes including, aviation, engineering, game coding, circuitry, robotics, drone, and spy camp.

The Museum offers before care, after care, and boxed lunches.
