That's right, a 1,000 foot slip-and-slide is coming to Omaha! If you haven't heard of Slide the City, it's a giant family friendly water party event that is taking North America by storm. Live music, food, water fights, and of course... the mecca of slip-and-slides. If you're like me and can't quite fathom how long 1,000 feet is, it's the size of THREE FOOTBALL FIELDS.
The slide is padded, plus you need a floatie. Make sure you also bring your water buckets, water guns, super soakers, water balloons, or anything else that can help you defend yourself and get others soaking wet!
Coming to Omaha- Dates TBD
Slide The City has added a number of new cities to their planned locations, and they've officially added Omaha to the list. While no date is set, the site says that it will be "Coming Soon". Let's hope it will be hitting up our streets this summer! In order to make sure you get the announcement of the dates at the earliest opportunity, I'd suggest signing up for their newsletter, they'll notify you as soon as registration opens! Here's the link: https://www.slidethecity.com/events/omaha/
We'll keep the article updated as we find out more information as well.
Exact location of where the slide would hit the asphalt in Omaha has not been announced. Usually they will post to their Facebook page as they're getting ready for each city, and put the question out to the locals for what hill would be the best.

Please read the reviews before attending the Slide The City event. I was terribly disappointed, for the 4th of July, 2015!! I’ve been waiting for over a year for this Slide The City to come to Ann Arbor, MI., to end up standing in two lines for over two hours, then to be constantly pushed and pulled down the slide because I surely wasn’t sliding. Eventually, I just walked more than half way down to the bottom. I wont be recommending this to any of my family or friends in Lansing, Grand Rapids, Flint or Detroit. I’ll tell them to save their money and time, it’s not worth it!!! I requested a refund, still no response from Slide the City!!
