Rosedale Playschool isn't on this list, but it should be. Such amazing teachers in a bright and fun space. It's a learn through play program and takes most of their learning queues from the children themselves. Whether it is nature, dinosaurs, or space, the teachers are always willing to set-up the room to engage what the kids are interested in.
Some daycares are definitely more clever about finding promotion for their business and somehow make sure they are in articles to promote themselves.to be on top lists . Some centres hire staff over seas to boost their google search to be on page one . Some centres have family and “friends “ leave reviews. Some of these well known and advertised centres have never had their own children enrolled part time or full time in their own business. The non profit centres and those centres that have well paid teacher are what you really need to look for . Reconsider where you send your child especially if the owners own kids are not visible daily in the business and mostly used in advertising. Which is clever for the business owners but not necessarily for your child Parents always be keen on your child’s needs more than what business wants to “sell you “. Any business is trained and fully aware of what you want to hear and know how to sell you on what you want to hear. Proof is in the results .The best teacher child ratio is 1:4 . The best centre has staff that doesn’t leave and are paid well or are non profit with volunteers and people that enjoy being there. Get to know each teacher that will influence your child’s daily emotional ,social ,cognitive and motor parts of the brain by offering an environment that is predictable, stable , consistent and nurturing . These teachers need to be approachable and easy to access because they work with your child daily . You should be able to drop in at any time to observe your child’s happiness . Top lists ,fancy blogs, , advertising, fancy paint on walls or fancy rooms with gyms or toys does not mean your child’s most important development al needs are met nor does it mean the teachers are happy to be there or to work with your baby. Drop in often and ask questions and ask your neighbors and freinds about the best care around .Get to know the teachers not just the front staff or owners . Don’t short change your child’s brain development and what your child deserves . Expect and demand that your finances and government subsidies support the care givers and not just making the owners profit well. Fancy advertising and over bloated advertisements should always be overlooked and more focus should be made on well paid happy educators.
