A childhood favourite for Christmas is definitely PARADES! Unfortunately the Jingle On Indoor Santa Claus Parade won't be on this year, but there's some other great options not far from the city that would be be worth the drive!

Santa Claus is coming... to town! Yes, that's the first song to get stuck in my head when I think of Christmas parades, I can't hep it! Here's the dates and routes for the popular Christmas Parades in Edmonton and surrounding areas. I know the last 2 are far away... but they're very cool so just wanted to throw them out there!
Note: There will be no Jingle On Indoor Santa Claus Parade this year. This was previously listed, and we apologize for any confusion.
Where: Downtown Leduc. Route begins at Leduc Grain Elevator (47th St and 52nd Ave), heads west on Main St, south on 50th St, to Alexandra Park (where family activities will take place!)
When: Friday November 28th, 2014 at 7pm. Festivities at Alexandra Park from 7:30-9pm.
What: Enjoy the Santa Claus Parade, and then follow along to Alexandra Park where there will be a free skate, hot chocolate, hot dogs, hay rides, Christmas music, and more! Donations to the Food Bank graciously accepted.
Where: Fort Saskatchewan- Along 99th St, right on 100th.
When: Saturday November 29th, 2014 at 11am
What: Santa will be riding through the streets of Fort Saskatchewan on his magical sleigh! Local youngsters will have the chance to deliver their letters to Santa by handing them to one of this elves as his float passes by (how exciting!).
Where: 50th Ave. & 50th St., (Main Street) Rocky Mountain House, ABThe parade starts on Main St., travels down the street until 47th Ave., then over to Highway 11, and back to Main St.
When: November 29, 2014, parade starting at 7 – 8 pm
What: With thousands of lights decorating these parade floats, this is one illuminating parade experience you’ll want to experience. Kids treats and hot chocolate will be sold along the parade route. Remember to dress warmly!
Where: Traveling East down 102 St. & 100 Ave., the parade will proceed to 99 St., turns North, then East on 101 Ave., Grande Prairie, AB.
When: November 30, 2014 1 – 2 pm
What: The festive annual Grande Prairie Santa Claus Parade! Although not a Edmonton Christmas Parade, for those living or traveling north this winter season, this is one not to miss.
